“…..First on the list was Scabbing Squirrel seemingly and thankfully recovered from last weeks’ tumble following a week of less PH3, more TCP and plenty of TLC……..”

Evening,

This week as is often the case I bring you stories of heroism and athletic prowess and occasionally the two items are combined. I’ll start with the regular run report which you can read. I’ll make no bones about it, it was first class, as good an endorsement of why we haul ourselves out on a Sunday morning. And the sun shone too.

Of course at a similar time albeit in a somewhat different setting The Richard Branson memorial run Virgin London Marathon was taking place. I’ve heard from folk that it turned out warm which was welcome for most of the country apart from the 10s of 1000s running. Nonetheless our very own Paul Newman and Remington participated and completed the course in 4:14:45 and 4:02:47 respectively.  One final plug for their worthy causes in case you’ve not been moved to donate yet – those times might encourage you.  Try http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=PaulAllen for Paul Newman and http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/aliandcarriemarathonattempt  for Remington and this one comes with an added attraction of a free trial at any of her sessions for anyone who sponsors her- aliaboutfitness.co.uk Brazen!

The preceding day on a slightly less warm day the 7th Clandon Park Run took place over Burpham/Clandon way. Once again expertly coordinated by Allabouthashing.com this proved to be a PH3 father and son affair. My son Dash took on the 10k for the first time this year and gave me a good run for my money.  Unbeknownst to me, I was being hotly pursued by ‘New Ben’. The times are as follows Dash at 51:50 and 11th in U18, Hawkeye in 45:37 and 22nd in class, ‘New Ben’ in 46:07 4th in his class….. I’ll happily take PH3 bragging rights. But also note that ‘New Ben’s son’ beat us all in a time of 44:36, 3rd in the U18. So belated thanks to Virgil and Venus as clearly that 10k monster trail that I dragged Dash around the week before – set him up nicely for this 10k!

Two dates to note in your forward agendas:

1.   There will be a Bluebell Run from our usual venue of Yew Tree Farm, Polesden Lacey on Sunday 12th May 2013.  One not to miss.

2.   There will a PH3 Dorset Weekend featuring two runs on Saturday afternoon (at Cranborne) and our usual Sunday run (at Studland). This courtesy of Billy Graham will take place on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July 2013. Let me or BG know if you want to come along.

A final reminder for you to let me know if you are thinking of accepting the kind invitation from Cinderella and Prince Charming to attend their wedding at St John the Baptist Church, Wonersh at 2pm on Sunday 5th May and at the evening celebrations at 8pm at Gate Street Barn, Bramley.  Getting nervous folks?

Which then brings me to this weekend’s hash run which will be on Sunday 28th April 2013. We are being disorientated by Scooby Doo who will be setting from The Sidney Wood Car Park, Nr Alfold. This was a favourite of the sadly departed Super.  It’s not an easy venue to find (I have included directions from two directions), these can be found on the website. Afterwards we will decamp to the Three Compasses or maybe The Sun Inn?

Anyway, I hope to see you in the CP for the off.

On on
